Oluwole Olawuyi

Wole Olawuyi is a Nigerian contemporary painter and mixed-media artist, born in 1989 in Kwara State, Nigeria. His artistic journey began at a young age when he demonstrated an exceptional talent for art. He initially trained in Fine and Applied Arts at the Kwara State College of Education but did not complete his formal studies there. However, his passion for painting remained steadfast, and he went on to develop his unique artistic voice through self-teaching and practice.

Olawuyi is known for his mastery of the impasto technique, where he creates textured surfaces with oil paints applied thickly, often using a painting knife to build rich, expressive layers. His works convey powerful emotional narratives, touching on themes such as resilience, human struggles, and societal dynamics.
