Kolapo Obadiah

Born in 1988 in Ilorin, Kwara State, Nigeria, Olorunyemi Kolapo Obadiah is a self-taught visual artist renowned for his exploration of identity, human connection, and futurism. Despite earning a B.Sc. in Physics from Kogi State University in 2012, his passion for art led him to pursue a full-time career in the creative industry.

Kolapo’s work seamlessly integrates principles of physics with visual storytelling, utilizing mediums such as charcoal, graphite, and oil paints to create realistic representations. His art delves into Afrofuturism, reimagining African identity and existence in futuristic contexts.

In 2016, Kolapo founded “Elbowroom,” an art movement aimed at fostering creative expression among young realistic artists, encouraging them to break free from traditional constraints and explore diverse forms of artistic narration.
